For a beach experience at any time of the year, head out to Portugal's gorgeous island of Madeira, where apartments and villas boast spectacular views of the ocean and of the mountainous interior and many of our properties are situated within walking distance to the beach. With its mild, sub-tropical climate, Madeira is a favourite winter destination.

For an off-the-beaten-track holiday, head to Portugal's remote, rural north. A picturesque region traversed by the Douro River and filled with vineyards, quintas (historic estates), and Port wine cellars, the north is a world away from the resort towns of the coasts. Famed Port makers including Dow's, Taylor's and Graham's have been set up here for centuries, and you can visit many of the wineries where grapes are still stomped by human feet. The delicious product, Port wine, is the most famous export of Portugal. An apartment or villa in this region will put you within easy driving distance of main area attractions like the city of Port, the port cellars, and the thermal spas dotted across the region.

Although Portugal's capital, Lisbon, is one of the smallest European capitals, it packs in a liveliness and vibrancy that few cities can beat. Sitting by the Rio Tejo (Tagus River), Lisbon's boutique shops, street cafes and historic districts make for one of the most appealing destinations of Portugal. An apartment here will put you in the thick of the city action, though many of our rental apartments are also within easy reach of the beach (25 miles away) and a wide range of outdoor activities.
