  1. I always keep my availability up to date on my site - can I just give you the URL so that you know when my property is available?

    You can but you won’t be taking advantage of most of our special features. Our online booking system allows visitors to book your property 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without querying us beforehand about availability. If you are not able to keep out calendar up to date then you can only register your properties with us on the Bronze scheme and make it clear on your property page that customers must contact you to check availability before they book.

  2. Do you also manage properties, i.e. organise cleaning, letting the customers in?

    No, we don't offer this service. If you take a booking via our site it would be your responsibility to ensure that the property was clean and ready for occupation, and to ensure that customers are provided with access to the property.

  3. What does it cost to advertise my property on selfcateringhols.com?

    We work on a commission basis, so there is no up front charge to list your property on our site. We earn our money only when we generate a booking for you, at which point we deduct a 10% commission on the value of the booking. If we don't generate income for you, it costs you nothing. We proactively market all of our properties, both online and in the press, at no cost to you - we take all the risks and you pay only when we successfully generate a booking.

  4. Can I list my property on your site and take bookings from other sources?

    Yes, we are non-exclusive and have no limits on the number of bookings you can take from other sources, providing that you immediately update your availability via our owners' interface upoon receiving a booking from elsewhere.

  5. Can you just take the deposit and we will collect the remainder when the guest arrive?

    Sorry, but no. The client pays all of the money through our booking system and we forward on to you the full amount less our commission. We know that many websites work on the principal that they take a deposit which they keep, and then the owners collect the remainder, which is for them - but we don't do this. This has a number of advantages, namely: the customer does not have to travel with what can often be a considerably amount of cash to pay the owner and you can relax in the knowledge that once you have a booking from us you will simply receive the rent in your nominated bank account without any further misshap, such as the customer not turning up at the last minute.
