A magnificent 9 bedroom country house in Snowdonia standing in its own grounds and gardens with stunning views over the Snowdonia mountains and the Menai Straights. This was the former home of the Armstrong-Jones family and was once a popular retreat for Anthony Armstrong-Jones (Lord Snowdon) and his wife Princess Margaret when they were married in the 1960s.

The house, despite its grandeur, retains a relaxed, homely and comfortable atmosphere. It still contains much of the original family furniture, memorabilia and portraits and the magnificent Drawing Room boasts a real log fire and a baby grand piano. You can take your meals in the elegant dining room or in the fabulous Gun Room with its huge 17th century fireplace and an array of hunting memorabilia and antique guns.

To make your stay even more luxurious, a chef as well as a house-keeper and waitresses, can be arranged for an additional fee.

Plas Dinas is situated about one and a half miles south of the famous castle town of Caernarfon, in the village of Bontnewydd on the A487. Bangor railway station is only 9 miles away and Manchester & Liverpool airports about 100 miles away. It is ideally suited for the numerous activities and attractions of the North Wales coast, Snowdonia National Park and the Lleyn Peninsula.

Usually we offer weekly or weekend stays with check-in day usually Friday after 4pm with checkout the following Friday by 10 am. However, we are flexible and with mutual consent will consider any length of stay and variable check-in and check-out dates.
