Villa Elsa is situated in the countryside 30km north of Rome, near the hilltown of Palombara Sabina. The house is surrounded by olive groves and a vineyard - if you come in late September or November you can help with the picking! The attic apartment has been recently restructured, with wooden beams and tiled floors. It has a kitchen, bedroom with skylight, bathroom and living room with comfortable sofabed. French windows open from the living room onto the private terrace (50m2) from which you can admire the nearby mountains - Monte Pellecchia (1368m) and Monte Gennaro (1271m). These mountains form part of the regional park of Monti Lucretili and offer endless possibilities for walking, birdwatching and wildflowers. The flat is competely independent, having its own curved staircase from the garden. There is a small pool in use in the summer months - filled with the characteristic local sulphur water.

The area is famous for its olive oil (which we produce as well as wine), and also for its wonderful cherries, peaches and apricots. The local villages have festivals in the summer to celebrate the years harvest.

Only 2km away there are three beautiful outdoor swimming pools (open from June to September), where you can also have beauty treatments and massages.

Rome can be easily reached by train from the station just 4km away(so avoiding the nightmare of traffic and parking problems). Trains run every 15 minutes and the journey into Rome Tiburtina takes half an hour.

For those with a car there are many other fascinating places to visit in the area, such as Tivoli, Palombara, Fara Sabina, Montelibretti, and Anzio by the sea is only an hour or so away.
