Monnars, situated in a privileged area of the Costa Daurada, is a calm residential area around an old village centre. All facilities are available to enjoy some lovely days of relaxation and fun.

It is very well connected being only 10 minutes away from Reus Airport with daily direct flights to the Uk,Holland, and Deuschland. Also Barcelona Airport is on the doorstep, within 1 hour by train or car.

A 5 minutes walk takes you to ?Playa Larga?, a very lovley, open beach with fine sand. From there you can access some isolated small beaches (and some nudist beaches) in a natural protected area.

There are some lovely restaurants on the beach and most importantly ? the beach pub.

Within 10 minutes you are in the city centre of Tarragona, an old Roman city which was awarded ?Historical place of interest? by Unesco. Apart from the cultural offerings you can find shops, restaurants and all kinds of services.

For the more active persons the famous ?Costa Daurada Golf club? is only a 5 minutes walk away.

Watersports, fishing, jet ski, ? all is possible.

The famous adventure park ?Port Aventura? is only 20 minutes away by bus.

Finally Monnars is situated in the heart of Catalunya and is the ideal base for lots of day trips to different fantastic resorts in Catalunya.

We stayed at Los Pinos for 10 days in July with our 3 year old. The apartment was fine, the nearby beach fantastic but it was the property owner, Oscar whose efforts made sure we had the best time. He was so accommodating and helpful, always willing to go out of his way to make our stay more enjoyable. The beachfront at Monnars is undeveloped, just campsites, bars and restaurants. The beach is great, uncrowded even in high season, soft, golden sand, very gently shelving into the sea, very safe for children. Thanks very much Oscar, we will definitely come back again.

We spent a lovely week at the Los Pinos apartment near Tarragona. The apartment is ideally situated a few minutes walk from the beautiful sandy beach. It has excellent bus links into Tarragona where there is a train station to reach other places further afield, for example Barcelona. This area is a stunning part of Spain still undiscovered by the majority of English tourists. The owner, Oscar, was efficient and accomodating from the very beginning of the booking process. He ensured that our family of four, including our four year old daughter and sixteen month old son, were well catered for. He personally provided an airport transfer service from and to Gerona airport, about two hours away from the apartment, charging only for the fuel and toll costs. He also took us to a large supermarket to stock up on supplies for the week as well as giving us a commentary en route about the area. We would certainly recommend the apartment and would like to return there ourselves in the near future.

This appartment is a really fantastic choice for a lovely & relaxing holiday for a couple or small family or group.

We went there for our first holiday with your 18 month old son for one week in July 2006 and had a wonderful time. The apartment is a good size and well equipped and in a lovely residential neighbourhood. Oscar, the landlord, provided us with a cot for your son and was the most excellent host imaginable; he picked us up from the aiport and took as shopping to the supermarket and on a trip in his car to show us the surrounding area.

It's a five minute walk to a lovely and very child-friendly beach that was pleasant and not too crowded even at peak season. Bus connections into Tarragona are frequent during the day and we went there almost every afternoon to relax during the hotter hours.

If you want to explore the area more freely or stay out late at night, it would be worth hiring a car as buses stop around 11 pm and there are many lovely villages and towns in the area that are easier reached by car.

There are only small beach/camping/petrol station shops in the immediate neighbourhood, which wasn't a problem for us at all due to Oscar's kind offer to take us to a big supermarket on the day we arrived. We then just bought fresh items from the small shops or Tarragona as time went on, but I think if you don't have a car and are staying for longer, it's also possible to get supermarket deliveries.

We would definitely come back!
