A very nice fully equipped house, with marvellous views. You will enjoy the view 24 hours a day: watch the sunset with your drink in one hand, admiring the Pyrenees as long as there is daylight and wonder what people do in all those houses down the hill - in the evening. Believe me, the view is really perfect - we bought the house for it! Our house will comfortably accommodate a large family of 10+ a baby or 2 smaller families, but it is also perfect for 3 couples travelling together or just 1 couple celebrating an anniversary. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor, with double beds and wardrobes in each, a dining-sitting room, dining space for 10, a separate kitchen, a bathroom and a separate wc. 2 bedrooms on the ground floor (1 double, 1 with twin beds), wardrobe in each, sitting room with a sofa-bed. shower room and a separate wc. The house has 2 entrances so you can divide early birds from those who sleep until 12 o'clock.

There is a garage and a parking space for 1 more car - in front of the gates. The property is fenced, both the garden and the house are safe for children. There are so many things to do all year round, for all ages, that I wonder why people need tv, though we have 2...

The town centre, a 10-minute stroll, has a lot of restaurants and shops, banks and atms. A supermarket is 1.5 km away. A large municipal swimming pool and tennis courts are within 1 km and there is plenty of things to do all year round.

The skiing season is from December to March/April. All this and a lot more can be reached within 30-50 minutes. The main resorts at Font Romeu - Pyrenees 2000 (40 pistes, 52 km ) and Les Angles (32 pistes, 40 km ) can be reached in 40 minutes. Swimming – at any coastal resort (45 km to the closest) or at the Lake Vinca (10 km) or at a water sports park (40 km). There is a wine making village just 6 km away and a lot of wine related activities all around the area. Other activities include spas and thermal baths, golf, cycling/mountain biking, fishing, horse riding, canoeing, rafting, paragliding, sailing, climbing, walking and hiking. Medieval fortified towns and abbeys, natural reserve and Solar Oven, a perfume museum and the site of the oldest human in Europe- all this and a lot more can be reached in 15-40 minutes.

Prades itself is a cultural town holding events and festivals throughout the year. Pablo Casals music festival is held each year for 2 weeks in July-August. The town is very pretty with a big and colourful market on Tuesday and Saturday mornings where you can buy peaches and cherries, fresh vegetables, wonderful cheeses and excellent wine.

Andorra is only a 1.5 hour drive away. There are several airports within a 3 hour-drive: Perpignan, Girona, Carcassone, Montpellier, Barcelona, and Toulouse. Ryanair flies to Perpignan once a day (or twice during high season) from Stansted. During the summer FlyBe have a daily service from Birmingham and Southampton. And Bmibaby now flies from Mancester.You can also use Eurostar and Tgv to Perpignan, then the local railway to Prades.
