The apartment is situated directly on Lake Lugano in a fairy tale like setting. This spacious apartment enjoys an uncompromising vista of the lake and surrounding area from all it's splendid rooms. Outside, the balcony is positioned forward of the villa where guests can enjoy the 180 degree view while dining al fresco on this, the villa's largest balcony.

NB the main road directly behind the villa is typically Italian - rather narrow with no footpaths and is not recommended with young children. Public parking is accessed along this road.

Thoroughly loved the whole two weeks we were there - so peaceful and relaxing. San Mamete is delightful, and getting about by the local bus was easy. Minuses were that the kitchen utensils etc needed updating, some new pillows and inadequate storage for clothes. The fridge wasn't cold enough, the toilet seat needs replacing and the cleaner needs sacking !!

We found the setting too be spectacular but the cleanliness & housekeeping left a lot to be desired. There was no nearby parking and no washing facilities not even a useable drying rack. The nearest self operated laundry was an hours drive away in Como.

Fabulous location and views, well appointed and great to be able to swim off the pontoon after hiking. Only negative was the fridege in that it seemed wrongly located under the hotplate and given the cupboard alongside had ventilation at the bottom. Whenever the hotplate was used, ice would not freeze and frodge lost temperature. Other than that, a most enjoyable and comfortable week and Maria is a star! Will stay again. Regards Rowena

When we arrived the contact person, who was to give us the keys, was involved in a dinner party and had left the keys at a bar in San Mamete. However the bar was closed and we had to wait 45 mins for the bar owner to return. This was unfortunate after a long journey.

We liked the apartment and it was what we wanted in most respects.

The WC area in the bathroom smelled very strongly of urine. The area needs a very deep clean to try and eliminate this.

The apartment is great - it has a fabulous view as I a m sure all other people have stated. We stayed for 2 weeks; clean sheets half way through would have been better and small things like the fridge being defrosted (an useable) would have helped.
