It gave hospitality to Michelangelo, Goethe, Byron, Stendahl, Hans Christian Andersen; the ancient farmhouses surrounding it have been restored and transformed into nicely furnished apartments with a beautifull view of Lake Trasimeno. The beach at the lake is 3km away. All around the buildings is the old park with a children's playground and small pool, and olive trees that make a special tasty olive oil. Further afield are Rome and Florence accessible by train or car in approximately 2 hours.
