The villa is situated just 48 km south of Marrakech at the foot of the Ourika Valley river high on a safe place between the beautiful Atlas mountains. Built on a property of 750 sqm surrounded with a big garden with fruit trees and 2 terraces with a magnificent view on the Ourika river.

The villa is one room deep with all rooms looking out onto the valley. The villa comprises 2 bedrooms in total 1 double and 1 single. This gives room for up to 4 people The house is light and airy with Moroccan styles, hand-built by local craftsmen, the house features are beautiful, reclaimed Moroccan windows, doors, wall tiles and furniture, complemented with a mix of European accessories and design features. Up more stairs is a huge terrace which would be perfect for lying in the sun or just gazing out at those views. The gardens are full of fruit trees so the blossoms in Spring are awesome. Ourika is the place to experience nature unspoiled and the valley is inhabited by the Berbers and little has changed in many years. Everyone is very friendly and everywhere one is greeted with a smile. Travel further up the valley on mule or dromedary, enjoy a simple meal in the local restaurant or just stay at the house and arrange food to be brought in. This is the ultimate escape for the hectic modern life.

Should you need a guide, a friendly young man, who has lived all his life in the valley and speaks basic English, is available for all enquiries during the stay. He too can arrange a laundry service done by the local women in the river and organise an excursion. We also support the housekeeper who is a local with his monthly salary and donations such as clothes and food to his family.

The person who will meet the clients at the airport will provide the guests with information of the house, the local restaurants and activities.

We recommend to use all local owned stores and restaurants. And this again contributes directly to the local communities as local staff are employed and locally produced and sourced goods are used. I buy bread and fruits from the Ourika valley. The local restaurants cook mostly with local products.

The house has water supply from water of two water butts, one for the garden one for the house. We change sheets and towels after one week. We use energy efficient light bulbs.

All the waste of the house is burnt directly by the housekeeper except for any plastic or potentially noxious products. We will keep these aside until we can recycle it. We do not use any chemical pesticides or fertilisers. Many of the building materials for the house were such as stones were collected from the natural surroundings.
