The accommodaton which sleeps up to 12 people, consists three self-contained apartments. There are two adjoining apartments on the top floor of the villa each of 42m2. Both have an open plan living/ dining area with double sofa bed and well equipped kitchen facilities, a twin bedroom with air conditioning and a bathroom with full bath with shower over. The living rooms are cooled by ceiling fans. Several balconies help to make the most of the wonderful sun with views of the sea and the olive clad hillsides. The third, larger apartment is on the first floor and is fully air-conditioned (80m2). It has 2 bedrooms with twin beds, large open plan living/dining room with kitchen, bathroom and separate additional Wc. The garden has 2 barbecues with seating, grassy areas and fruit trees and also some children's swings. You may even be lucky enough to spot the wild tortoises who visit the garden at times.

Amaliapolis itself is a picturesque seaside village situated on a large bay in the Pagasitic Gulf, 53km south of the lively university city of Volos from where Jason and the Argonauts set sail. It is roughly midway between Athens and Thessaloniki and so well situated for exploring mainland Greece, including the monasteries of Meteora, classical Delphi and other archaeological sites in Magnesia and beyond.

In the village centre you will find a choice of cafes/bars and tavernas, with excellent fish, three of which stay open all year, all within walking distance of the villa. The village also has two bakeries and two general stores. The beach is also a short walk (700m) from the apartments and is sandy and gently sloping - making it very suitable for young children. There is also a children's playground, 5-a-side football pitch and volleyball court next to the beach. In high season there are 2 beach bars. In summer Amaliapolis is popular with holidaying Greek families. You can experience the 'real' Greece here largely untouched by mass-market tourism.

There are several other good sandy beaches within a 30 minute drive. You can also take a boat trip to the island of Skiathos. Volos is a bustling small city with a wide range of shops, restaurants and ferry links to the islands of Skiathos, Alonissos and Skopelos. The Pelion Peninsula is within driving distance with beautiful scenery - a good day trip.
