Amalfi Coast Apartments: Campania's best-known resort area, the Amalfi Coast is a 50-kilometre stretch of sandy cove beaches, hilltop towns, peaceful lemon groves and glistening Mediterranean waters. Few places in Europe can compete with the charms of the Amalfi Coast, and apartments here are in high demand. Our apartments range from luxurious seaside properties to smart budget flats, all located in some of the prettiest towns of the Amalfi Coast. Apartments available on www.selfcateringhols.com are fully equipped and available for flexible, short-term rental.

The Amalfi Coast boasts some of Italy's most impressive coastline. The rich blue Mediterranean and a backdrop of staggeringly steep cliffs creates an ideal setting for picturesque towns like Positano, Amalfi, Maiori, and Conca dei Marini, some of which seem to be literally hanging off the hillside. The magical combination of natural beauty, history, fabulous beaches and a great local cuisine has made the Amalfi Coast a magnet for pleasure-seekers from across Europe.

Moorish-flavoured Positano is perhaps the most popular resort on the Amalfi Coast. An apartment here puts you in the centre of the action and within walking distance of a seemingly endless variety of shops and restaurants. Nearby are some of the Amalfi Coast's best beaches, and just a short walk from town is the tiny village of Nocelle, where you can enjoy great views of the coast.

Amalfi, in the centre of the region, is another famous resort on the Amalfi Coast. Apartments here are great for those looking for a centrally located base from which to explore the rest of the region. With more than a millennia of history behind it, the once-powerful port of Amalfi has several worthwhile historical buildings and museums, including the cathedral, which dates to the 9th century. Amalfi is surrounded by hills strewn with beautiful walking paths. One of the most popular takes you to the pretty village of Ravello.

Founded in the Roman days, the crescent-shaped resort of Maiori boasts one of the best beaches on the Amalfi Coast. Apartments in Maiori are ideal for holiday-goers seeking easy beach and sea access. Though the town was destroyed several times throughout its long history, Maiori has conserved several important churches and a medieval monastic complex, and of course its beach and sea view are as pretty as ever.

In Conca dei Marini, the buildings look as though they were stacked one atop the other, with the sea at their feet. The pretty white houses stand guard over a natural inlet, once used as a place to anchor ships and now used for sunbathing and swimming. Here you can visit few unique churches or explore a 14th-century convent just outside town.

Other recommended towns on the Amalfi Coast include Praiano, Furore, Atrani, Scala, Cetara, and Vietri sul Mare.
