Cala d'Or, Majorca
Regional Image of

Cala d'Or is a smart resort on the southern part of the east coast of Majorca. Cala d'Or has grown from a small traditional Mallorcan fishing village and now covers an area of over 4km of small sandy coves and creeks. The town still has the feeling of a small village with few, if any, high rise buildings.

The large marina in a cove called Cala Llonga is in the centre of the town. The town centre is a pedestrian zone which has a selection of shops, bars and restaurants. There are 10 sandy coves with beaches in the area but they can become extremely crowded. Many visitors take the morning bus to Es Trenc, where the beach stretches for almost 5km. Es Trenc with clear blue water and golden sand, backed by pine trees and dunes, is popular with nudists.
