The numerous street cafes and tapas bars, scattered among the steep, cobbled, narrow streets, serve traditional Spanish delicacies.

Popular beaches are El Cristo Beach situated just outside the town in a delightful sheltered cove and ideal for children El Padron Beach, situated east of the with a large car park and bars. Quieter beaches can be found a bit further out of the town and there is a purpose built naturist complex at including a beach at Costa Natura.

The Estepona Marina is situated at the west end of the seafront promenade. This is a very pleasant place for a stroll and there are some magnificent boats moored here. There are also a wide variety of excellent bars and restaurants here as there are in the town centre. Most of the nighttime activity happens in the port area which can become crowded, particularly at weekends.

There are a number of fiestas through the year including the Three Kings - 6th January,

Carnivals - Shrove Tuesday, Easter Week celebrations, Saint Isidro the Farmer - 15th of May, San Juan - 23rd of June, Summer Feria - 1st or 2nd week of July and Virgen del Carmen - 16th of July.
