Towns on the coasts of Northern Malta have been developed relatively recently and offer many tourist services and facilities. Principle resorts are Bugibba and Mellieha, which is well located for Golden Sands Bay, the largest sandy beach on the island. Bugibba, one of the most popular resorts on the island, offers inexpensive accommodation with a vibrant, active atmosphere.
