An old market town on the banks of the river Dranse, Morzine has retained its traditional charm whilst becoming a renowned ski resort. The largest of 13 interconnected ski areas within the Portes du Soleil ski area, Morzine offers access to unparalleled skiing options in an area straddling France and Switzerland. The area as a whole - for which it is possible to buy a single ski pass - has 650 km of marked runs and 230 lifts, and covers 14 valleys. The town has plenty of restaurants and bars and has a friendly atmosphere.

Other airports in the area are Annecy (65km) and Lyon-Saint Exup?ry (200km). The nearest motorway exit is Cluses (A40), 35 km from Morzine.

Facilities include a 50 metre outdoor pool, two golf courses, tennis courts, horse riding, and river rafting. There are also numerous walking and biking trails, with over 20 chair lifts running in the summer to take walkers up onto the mountainsides. If that is not enough to keep you busy, Morzine is just 30 minutes from lake Geneva.
